Most countries have now recognized the significance of women to become empowered and thus creating a more gender-equitable society. women empowerment is multidimensional in nature that encompasses reproductive rights too.

A case in point is ‘The Republic, of The Gambia’, a densely populated African country where women reportedly, in rural areas have limited access to emergency obstetric and gynecologists.

#WahWoman, www.wahwoman.in, & its team have been privileged to have had the opportunity to converse on the topic with Dr. Ameena Ali, Founder, Lead Advocate at the Federation of International Gender and Human Rights (FIGHR), UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status – NCCB Director Women Empowerment & Development, Executive Director – NMF ULW, Special Envoy, Global Goodwill Ambassadors of The Republic of the Gambia and above all, a true humanitarian!

Women’s rights are fundamental human rights. However, in spite of enormous attempts made by the international WOMEN’S RIGHTS movement over many years, girls and women around the world are still married during their childhood, trafficked into forced labor, refused access to education and political participation.

With age comes helplessness, frailty, weakness, and vulnerability. Elderly care emphasizes the social and personal requirements of senior citizens who need some assistance with daily activities and health care, but who desire to age with dignity. Consumers are getting way more health and wellness-conscious than ever before and are starting to grow a deeper relationship with their wellness. There has been a clear shift in consumer behaviour over the years from choosing synthetic to natural, from inorganic to organic and more natural .They are developing more affinity towards herbal based products which often have chemical free compositions to address accumulated issues that people in general experience with their skin by using chemically loaded products over a period of time; such products are, generally free of parabens, synthetic colors and are often premium priced. We invited on #WahWoman (www.wahwoman.in) Cintamani Bhattacharya, Founder of #VaidyamHealthcare, an extensive premium range of natural skin and hair products predominantly, to discuss more about it.

By Deepti Joshi, Child & Adolescents Psychologist, Owner of Brain Matters

‘Open your heart and tell me your story’

said a good friend, Rajni Vohra, WahParty CEO and WahWoman YouTube channel owner.

For a person who is everyone’s confidante, keen on helping out but at the same time keeping her own feelings to herself, it is very difficult to open up. But hey! Facing difficulties and doing things differently is my motto for 2020!

Indeed life has knocked me down a few times. It showed me things I never wanted to see. I experienced sadness and failures. But one thing is for sure, I always got up!

So, today I am sharing how I got into the world of psychology.
It is said “A different version of you exists in the minds of everyone who knows you”.

If you ask a friend from my school, they might use adjectives like brilliant, gifted, genius etc; however, my engineering friends might definitely have different views!

The journey of a meritorious student to mediocre one was super fast and now I know that I was fighting depression and psychological issues and no body in the family knew or recognized it. Adding fuel to my existing condition, I was again struck by a personal tragedy of losing my only brother just a week before my wedding day!

I had to move abroad with my husband. Even if I was doing professionally well working in reputed IT giant, life still had few lessons to teach me. I had to undergo series of miscarriages with minimal health support from NHS in UK.
That’s when we (me and my husband) decided to take things in our hands and I ventured into the world of health psychology. It opened up new vistas on how your psyche works on different levels. It impacts not only your health, relationships, attitude towards life but money as well!

I started applying this new found knowledge to practices like Self Talk/ NLP, sleep talk, Emotional empowerment theories etc. And lo’behold our life started changing at lightning speed! And this time it was in positive way.
On being blessed with a beautiful daughter, I decided to leave my job and concentrate more on bringing her up. In the meantime, to back up knowledge and experience with a degree I completed a post graduate course in Child and Adolescent psychology.
As my little one was growing up while exhibiting her natural spark, my mother and others in the family reminded that she is more like me.

My inner transformation continued like an onion, I was peeling off my old unwanted beliefs and rediscovering my passion of helping and coaching people and founded Brain Matters.

With Brain Matters, we have helped many people know themselves and achieve their dreams and sense of fulfilling lives. We help parents on how to bring out the best in their children, work with couples who face infertility due to various issues and individuals who are struggling with their lives and would like to take things in own their hands to be winners!
