Your Story…

‘Open your heart and tell me your story’

For a person who is everyone’s confidante, keen on helping out but at the same time keeping her own feelings to herself, it is very difficult to open up. But hey! Facing difficulties and doing things differently is my motto for 2020!

Indeed life has knocked me down a few times. It showed me things I never wanted to see. I experienced sadness and failures. But one thing is for sure, I always got up!

So, today I am sharing how I got into the world of psychology.
It is said “A different version of you exists in the minds of everyone who knows you”.

If you ask a friend from my school, they might use adjectives like brilliant, gifted, genius etc; however, my engineering friends might definitely have different views!

The journey of a meritorious student to mediocre one was super fast and now I know that I was fighting depression and psychological issues and no body in the family knew or recognized it. Adding fuel to my existing condition, I was again struck by a personal tragedy of losing my only brother just a week before my wedding day!

I had to move abroad with my husband. Even if I was doing professionally well working in reputed IT giant, life still had few lessons to teach me. I had to undergo series of miscarriages with minimal health support from NHS in UK.
That’s when we (me and my husband) decided to take things in our hands and I ventured into the world of health psychology. It opened up new vistas on how your psyche works on different levels. It impacts not only your health, relationships, attitude towards life but money as well!

I started applying this new found knowledge to practices like Self Talk/ NLP, sleep talk, Emotional empowerment theories etc. And lo’behold our life started changing at lightning speed! And this time it was in positive way.
On being blessed with a beautiful daughter, I decided to leave my job and concentrate more on bringing her up. In the meantime, to back up knowledge and experience with a degree I completed a post graduate course in Child and Adolescent psychology.
As my little one was growing up while exhibiting her natural spark, my mother and others in the family reminded that she is more like me.

My inner transformation continued like an onion, I was peeling off my old unwanted beliefs and rediscovering my passion of helping and coaching people and founded Brain Matters.

With Brain Matters, we have helped many people know themselves and achieve their dreams and sense of fulfilling lives. We help parents on how to bring out the best in their children, work with couples who face infertility due to various issues and individuals who are struggling with their lives and would like to take things in own their hands to be winners!
